Flexible Packaging Technology Center
In response to attendee requests to see more running equipment on the show floor, CMM has designed an innovative new Flexible Packaging Technology Center featuring a new Bobst/Schiavi electronic Flexo press from the Italian manufacturer's high-performance 10-color C.I. EF 50 press series, Profama's new Pratica 1200 slitter/rewinder, Hudson-Sharp's bag making machine, AirTrim's pneumatic edge trim removal system, Comexi's latest laminating equipment, and a variety of other equipment from leading suppliers. The machines in this dedicated area will be performing several converting processes during all four days of the show. This new Technology Center will provide thousands of converters from around the world with the opportunity to experience each step of the converting process while discussing the technology with a variety of industry experts.

The printing and converting demonstrations will include several types of consumer bags and other takeaway products featuring different types of printing to demonstrate the consistent high-quality print reproduction achievable for different requirements. The fast makeready and job change operations will show the effectiveness of the various time-and waste-saving functions and technical solutions featured on this high-performance digital flexo press.

Profamas newest slitter/rewinder, the Pratica 1200 has a shaftless unwind and includes an advanced operator interface, diagnostics, and set-up. The turreted changeover system minimizes downtime and dramatically increases throughput over non-turreted systems. These fast changes and minimal operator intervention provide labor and operational savings that attendees will be able to see and evaluate firsthand.

The equipment from Comexi, Hudson-Sharp, AirTrim, and others will round out the working production environment of this Technology Center and will help visitors understand the complexity of the process and the benefits of the latest integrated solutions. By leveraging the CMM Technology Centers, attendees at select conference sessions will have the opportunity to combine classroom learning and practical demonstrations.

Narrow and Mid-Web Converting Technology Center
Designed to help attendees better understand how they can combine both narrow and mid-web converting technologies, this new Technology Center will feature operating equipment from leading manufacturers producing various jobs during the entire four days of the show. Produced in conjunction with DiTrolio Flexographic Institute, this Technology Center offers a unique opportunity for attendees to not only view and evaluate running equipment right on the show floor, but also to see this equipment in a real-life production environment, just as it would be in their own shops.
In addition to the demonstrations that will be ongoing in the Technology Center, select conference and training sessions also will take advantage of the Technology Center by bringing attendees from the classroom to the show floor for close-up demonstrations of concepts covered in the conferences. Attendees are excited about the opportunity to combine converting and printing concepts with practical experience.

Propheteer and bielomatik are two of the leading companies already committed to showcasing their latest equipment at this Narrow to Mid-Web Converting Technology Center. Propheteer will be providing one of its most popular narrow web presses, and bielomatik will feature its RFID, high-speed smart label machine that will demonstrate high volume HF/UHF smart label converting. Built on a modular platform, the bielomatik machine is able to accept rolls of blank or pre-printed labels and rolls of transponders in order to process smart labels. A "live function test" will be performed with RFID readers to identify and mark defective labels prior to winding.

CMM is fortunate to be working with DiTrolio Flexographic Institute for this Technology Center. DiTrolio has trained and placed several hundred press operators throughout North and South America since its founding in 1999, and will leverage its expertise to help attendees get the most out of the Narrow to Mid-Web Converting Technology Center.
