Travel Visa Information
Due to new rules for obtaining an entry visa into the United States, it is very important that international visitors apply for this permission at their earliest possible convenience to avoid any delays to your travels. In some cases, this process can take up to six months. If you are a non-U.S. citizen attending CMM 2007, please carefully read the information below.
If you require a visa to enter the United States and would like to receive an invitation letter from CMM Show Management to assist in this process, please send an email to Lindsay Pater and include the following information for each attendee:
  • Given name and surname
  • Company name and address
  • E-mail address
  • Dates of actual attendance at CMM 2007
  • Company funding the attendance (this is usually the attendee's employer or an educational facility)
You must be registered for CMM 2007 and your registration fees paid in full. The letter of invitation will be emailed to you in PDF format. Print the letter to include in your documentation package that you will submit for obtaining your visa. Should an original copy of the letter be necessary, the attendee should specifically request this with the information provided above along with a physical mailing address.
NOTE: Representatives of the foreign press, radio, film, journalists or other information media, engaging in that vocation while in the U.S.:
  • Require a nonimmigrant Media (I) visa.
  • Cannot travel to the U.S. on the visa waiver program.
  • Cannot travel using a visitor visa.
If you do not require a visa and plan to enter the United States under the Visa Waiver Program* (VWP), please note the following:
Starting October 26, 2004, travelers entering the United States under the Visa Waiver Program must have a machine-readable passport. A machine-readable passport contains bar coded biographical information on the individual. The bar code allows U.S. immigration inspectors to "swipe" the passport through a reader and have the information automatically appear on their computer screen.
NOTE: Any traveler without a machine-readable passport will be required to obtain a visa before coming to the United States.
As of May 15, 2003 visa waiver travelers from Belgium must present either a machine-readable passport (MRP) or a U.S. visa at the port of entry to enter the U.S.
As of October 1, 2003, visa waiver travelers from Andorra, Brunei, Liechtenstein, and Slovenia must present either a machine-readable passport (MRP) or a U.S. visa at the port of entry to enter the U.S.
* As of February 3, 2004, the 27 Visa Waiver Program countries are: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
